Spoiled in Naples

I arrived in Naples from New York this morning. My dear friend Alessandra came to pick me up at the airport, took me to her apt, and cheffed up an incredible lunch. I then took a 5 hour nap (oops), reluctantly awoke, walked over to her parents' house for dinner, instantly snapped out of grogginess, and was ready to eat. No regrets whatsoever for spending the day eating and sleeping.

 - LUNCH -

Fusilli with eggplant, tomato, and mozerella

Mozzerella, salami, prociutto, eggplant pickled in vinegar

- DINNER -

Casatiello (bread with bacon, egg, cheese), friarielli (greens found only in Naples), croquettes

- DESSERT -

Struffoli (also known as the Christmas dessert, little fried dough coated with honey)

Roccoco ( Christmas biscuits)

- THE CHEF -

Breakfast on Long Island

XX
I arrived in New York yesterday for a brief stay. My dear friend Jess made me a wonderful breakfast this morning - eggs over easy, melted munster cheese and thickly sliced warmed tomato from the vine on english muffins, adorned with strawberries and blackberries. A wonderful way to start the day.

Ice ball tray

XX
These ice balls are just perfect for whiskey on the rocks. I found these trays at a shop not far from my parents' house in the countryside, but apparently they can be found pretty much anywhere in Tokyo. Great for entertaining friends with drinks.

Not as perfect as this, but I think they hold their own.
